IEC62133-2:2017 Scope of application: This standard specifies the safety requirements and test methods of portable sealed secondary battery cells and batteries (groups) containing alkaline or non-acid electrolytes in their intended use and abuse.




1. Testing and certification cycle:

3. Quantity of samples sent:




The number of samples required by the customer is: we need at least 65 batteries, and 21 batteries for batteries.

4. Which items should be tested by IEC62133?




Generally, the items to be tested by the IEC62133 standard for the battery are: external short circuit test, thermal shock test (bake the cell in a 130 degree (plus or minus 2 degrees) oven for half an hour), extrusion test, and overcharge test , Forced discharge test, transportation process simulation test, button battery AC internal resistance test item (this is the new version added, the new version of IEC is the IEC 62133-2:2017 standard. 5. What test content has been changed in the test of the new standard IEC 62133-2:2017?




   1. In the new standard IEC 62133-2:2017, testing of lithium batteries: Although the two vibration/shock tests are not required, nickel batteries still need to be tested for these two.




   2. Squeeze test. In addition to the pressure reaching 13KN, the new standard requires the instrument to monitor the voltage and deformation of the battery.




   3. Add internal short circuit test.




6. How to choose the test standard of the battery cell? For all the batteries to comply with this standard, their batteries also need to be certified according to the corresponding IEC 62133-2:2017 standard, or else they need to be certified together.




If this customer wants to make an IEC 62133-2:2017 test report for a battery, and later finds that its cell has not been CE certified by the European Union, then, it can not directly make the IEC 62133-2 of this battery: In 2017, the battery test report can only be made after the battery cell has been certified. But it can also be done at the same time, but it needs to be tested separately, and then the test report and the EU ce certification certificate can be issued separately.
